When it comes to ac repair, these are the three most common problems that we get calls on:

Leaking Freon: Think You may Have a Freon Leak?
Most people think air conditioners use up Freon, but they don’t. If you notice that your AC has low Freon levels, it’s likely that you have a freon leak. Your AC unit needs freon to run properly. If not detected early, a freon leak can lead to much bigger problems. If your AC is blowing warm air or not cooling, take a look and see if you notice any unusual liquid leaking around your ac unit. If you do, it could mean you have a freon leak. This is a big problem that requires an AC service call to us. Freon can also release hazardous fumes, which is why it’s imperative that you call an AC expert as soon as you realize your unit has a leak.

Our company provides Freon leak detection and repair in West Palm Beach and throughout the surrounding cities. We can quickly and efficiently address any leaks you have and make the necessary repairs to get your AC system back up and running. Call us today so we can repair the leak, and refill your AC freon to make your AC repair services faster and easier than ever.

Blocked airflow or dirty/dusty coils can cause your coils to freeze, which can cause your entire unit to freeze up. Look at your AC unit, if you see ice buildup on the coils, shut the ac unit off and call us to come out for repair.

Your AC has sensors that tell it when to turn on and off. If these sensors become obstructed, dirty, or get hit out of position, it can result in your air conditioner constantly running or what we refer to as fast cycling, which means it turns on and off often. If you notice any of these issues with your air conditioning unit, call us as soon as possible.

A maintenance call should include:
To increase the efficiency of your air conditioner, the tune-up should include a thorough condenser coil cleaning. Clean coils reduce the wear and tear on your unit, and directly impact the cost of running your air conditioner.
In an effort to maintain your air conditioner’s peak performance, the AC technician will make sure all moving parts are properly lubricated to eliminate wear to undo previous friction. The technician will also check the coolant levels to make sure they are at the proper level.
We will calibrate your thermostat to ensure it is operating correctly.
Your ductwork will be inspected for possible leaks.
Inspecting and if necessary, tightening of all the electrical connections to ensure safe operation of your entire system.
We will evaluate the current condition of the blower belt and analyse the blower motor to make sure it is operating efficiently.
These are just a few of the basic checks that will be performed by our HVAC technician during a regular maintenance check or tune-up of your ac unit.

It depends on the filters your AC system manufacturer recommends. Some AC systems use disposable filters. If it does, it is best to replace those per the AC manufacturer’s recommendations. Some filters are good for 90 days, some for only 30 days. Add a reminder to your phone, or write it down on a calendar.  Proper filter changing is the number one thing you can do to help your AC unit do to keep it running smoothly. There’s no reason to call an AC repair or installation contractor for this easy DIY AC maintenance task/check. All you need to do is buy a new air filter and replace the old one. By taking this simple step your air quality and your air conditioners efficiency will be improved big time.

Regularly scheduled maintenance should be completed twice a year on your HVAC system. We suggest maintenance be done in the Spring and Fall when its less hot. Routine maintenance on your AC will ensure that your summer will be cool and comfortable, and by having your heating system serviced in the Fall, you’ll assure yourself a comfy, cozy winter. Regularly scheduled maintenance allows us to address any minor problems that may occur with your heating & air conditioning system before it turns into a major issue.

Check to make sure that the electrical breaker to AC unit hasn’t tripped, and is in fact on getting power. Check the thermostat as well to see if the ac unit is actually on. (Trust us, it happens a lot!)

Are strange noises are coming from your unit? Is your AC blowing warm air,? If you realize your utility bill higher than normal and there is no other apparent reason, you’ll want to call us to come check out what’s going on with your system.

A residential split system is called a split system because the air handler is inside the house, usually in the attic or basement, and the outdoor condensing unit is outside on the side or behind the house. It’s called a split system because one part of the system is inside, the other one is outside.

Often we’re asked, How will I know when to replace my AC unit?” You could keep repairing your AC forever, however, we don’t recommend it as it’s not cost-effective at all. If your air conditioner is over 10 years old, or your repair costs start to exceed the value of the unit, it’s time to replace your air conditioner. Air conditioners have become much more efficient in recent times. You should consider replacing it if you have any of these concerns: you need an expensive repair done, your electric bill is increasing yearly, rooms are too cold or too warm, your home is humid, your home is dusty, or the system is too loud.
